​TIP: Each year, we hear that Roche is booked up. Each year, rooms open up and our group is accommodated. It is still best to try to make your reservations as early as possible! Save the date and book today!

As with any excursion, ensure you have all safety gear on board and properly fitted life vests for each of the people aboard your boat.

Weather dependent, we typically go on the inside between Camano Island and Whidbey Island, and then up and through Deception Pass across Rosario Strait. 

NOTE: Below schedule is from 2022 and may change based on weather and number in convoy. Please watch your email for details.

Depending on our timing getting through the Ballard Locks we estimate arriving at Roche Harbor around 1 PM.  Please arrive at the lakeside entrance to the locks no later than 8:00 AM, we will be departing Lake Union SkyLaunch as a group at 7:30am. Should you need special assistance/instruction getting through the locks please let us know by Monday.

• 7:00am – Meet at LKU Marina, grab coffee and food, gift bags
• 7:30am – Depart LKU to the Ballard Locks
• 8:00am – Meet at the lakeside entrance to the locks at 8:00am (Please note that we are at the timing of the locks and dependent on traffic)
• 9:00am – Gather and wait for convoy to get through the locks on the Shilshole Bay Marina side of the locks. We will depart for Roche Harbor once the entire convoy is through.
• 1:00pm – Estimated arrival at Roche Harbor

Yes, we will be hosting a pre-briefing meeting for anyone wanting a rundown of the excursion and to ask any final questions before the trip.

Yes - absolutely! New and experienced boaters alike join us every year for the Island Rendezvous. 

The guided convoy is a great way to earn your sea legs navigating the locks and the various waterways with our expert team. We are here to teach you the ropes so you are empowered to continue to explore our beautiful waterways on your own. 

You are welcome to go ahead on your own or join us later at Roche Harbor based on your schedule. The convoy is a courtesy to those who enjoy the spirit and comradery of a caravan or who may be new to navigating the route.

Every year we have boats ready for our FunShare members who wish to attend Island Rendezvous. You are responsible for registration fees, moorage, fuel and lodging.

Please email sgrim@seattleboat.com to secure your FunShare vessel for the weekend excursion. 

Note: There are limited boats for our FunShare members and they're offered on a first-come-first-served basis so please register early to secure your boat!
