Seattle Boat Company is investing in a complete transformation of the Lake Tapps Marina, with construction already underway as of August 2025. When doors reopen in Summer 2026, the new marina will be a vibrant hub designed to serve and inspire the regional boating community for decades to come.

Have questions about what’s happening at Lake Tapps Marina? We’ve answered the most common questions from boaters like you, including how to schedule service during construction, who to call, whether we’re still offering service (we are!), and what to expect when the new marina opens in 2026.

Is Seattle Boat closing its Lake Tapps location?

No, not at all. Lake Tapps Marina is operating out of temporary locations while the building undergoes a complete rebuild, but we are not going anywhere. We’re creating a brand-new marina facility and continuing to serve our customers throughout construction.

What is being built at Lake Tapps Marina?

We are building an entirely new marina from the ground up including:

  • A new, modern building

  • New dry rack boat storage

  • A mid-level service tarmac

  • Upgraded access roads, bulkheads, and waterfront access

  • A dedicated fuel dock

  • Enhanced showroom for boat sales

  • FunShare Boat Club

When will the new Lake Tapps Marina reopen?

We’re aiming to welcome you back in Spring 2026, just in time for boating season.

But if you’ve ever remodeled a kitchen… you know how this goes.

Can I still get my boat serviced while construction is happening?

Yes! We’re still providing full service, including:

  • Winterization

  • Detailing

  • Maintenance

  • Free valet transport for our service customers to and from our Kent Location

During construction, all service is temporarily based out of our Kent Location at 7260 S 224th Street, Kent, WA

Our Lake Tapps team is still coordinating everything and they’ll handle the valet logistics for you.

Yes. Boat sales continue through our:

  • Newport Showroom

  • Seattle Showroom

  • Online Inventory Listings

Sales reps are also available by appointment at the Kent facility, where we have boats staged for viewing.

Are you adding a public boat launch as part of the new Lake Tapps Marina?

No — the new launch ramp at Lake Tapps Marina is not open to the public.

It is a private-use launch, designed specifically for operations like valet service, customer drop-off and retrieval, and FunShare Boat Club. While the site layout is improving overall access, the launch will not be available to the public.
