Are you adding a public boat launch as part of the new Lake Tapps Marina?
No — the new launch ramp at Lake Tapps Marina is not open to the public.
It is a private-use launch, designed specifically for operations like valet service, customer drop-off and retrieval, and FunShare Boat Club. While the site layout is improving overall access, the launch will not be available to the public.
If you're a service customer or FunShare member, this improved launch will help us get you on the water faster and more efficiently!
How will Seattle Boat Company prevent fuel spills?
Seattle Boat Company takes protecting our waterways seriously and has a long track record of safe fueling operations. We have over 18 years of fueling experience on Lake Washington with no reported fuel spills.
We minimize the risk of spills through multiple layers of prevention and response, including:
-
Trained and certified fuel dock staff with ongoing safety education
-
Controlled fueling procedures and auto shutoff fuel nozzles
-
Fuel absorbing towels used to catch even the smallest drips
-
Spill containment equipment stored on site at the dock
-
Continuous dock monitoring during fueling operations
-
Emergency fuel shutoff capability in the event of an issue
In the unlikely event of a spill, staff are trained to immediately stop fueling, deploy spill containment materials, and follow established response protocols to protect the water and surrounding area.
Who is allowed to fuel at the fuel dock? Is it open to the public?
Fueling at the dock is available to Seattle Boat Company service customers. The fuel dock is not open to the general public.
This controlled access helps ensure safe operations, proper staffing, and consistent fueling procedures.
What will the hours of the fuel dock be?
Fuel dock hours will vary seasonally. Final hours will be announced closer to opening and updated as needed throughout the year to align with boating activity and daylight hours.
How often can boats fuel at the dock?
The fuel dock will have two pumps on site. Each pump will support two fueling appointments per hour, allowing for an organized and efficient fueling schedule while maintaining safety standards.
How often will FunShare Boat Club boats go out?
FunShare Boat Club boats operate on a structured reservation schedule to ensure availability and a high-quality member experience.
Members reserve boats in advance through the FunShare system. For current scheduling details and availability, visit the FunShare Boat Club website.

How is a boat club different from a boat rental company?

Unlike rental companies, FunShare members enjoy:
-
Consistent access to a modern fleet of boats
-
Predictable reservation scheduling
-
No maintenance, storage, or ownership responsibilities
